Dr Mirza Akhi is an Assistant Lecturer in Computing at Atlantic Technological University (ATU). She completed her PhD in Electronic and Computer Engineering at the University of Limerick. She was part of the Research Ireland Centre for Research Training in Foundations of Data Science. Her doctoral research focused on securing Healthcare Internet of Things (H-IoT) using artificial intelligence and machine learning, particularly for cyberattack detection and mitigation. Dr Akhi also develops lightweight deep-learning models, deploys them on resource-constrained edge devices, and creates cybersecurity datasets for IoT environments. Her broader research interests include artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, IoT, edge computing, and AI security.
