Cathal is a statistician in the Central Statistics Office and currently leads the Agriculture Surveys team. He holds a BSc in Mathematical Sciences and an MSc by Research in Statistics, both from University College Cork. With a keen interest in statistical research, Cathal’s focus will be on sampling strategies in official statistics. Outside of work and academia, Cathal enjoys a variety of sports and plays soccer.
Research Ireland Centre for Research Training in Foundations of Data Science will train a cohort of PhD students with world-class foundational understanding in the horizontal themes of Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Machine Learning.
