Leah holds a B.Sc. in Mathematical Sciences from University College Cork and is shortly due to graduate with a PhD from the University of Limerick. Leah’s research interests include using mathematical and statistical techniques to develop models for spreading processes on networks. For her PhD thesis, she developed a model for social-network dynamics and explored social spreading processes from both a mathematical modelling and an empirical data analysis perspective.
Thesis title: Dynamics on Clustered Networks: Mathematical Modelling and Empirical Analysis
12 week training placement: Central Statistics Office, Cork. For my training placement, I contributed to the development of an agent-based model for the spread of Covid-19 using synthetic census data.
