Thomas graduated from the University of Limerick with a BSc in Mathematics and Physics (First-Class Honours). He was awarded two Science and Engineering Summer Bursaries to carry out research projects, one involving modelling light-emitting diodes and the other concerning inverse problems. He also completed an eight-month placement at Seagate Technology during his degree. He is interested in Machine Learning and Applied Mathematics and his favourite hobby is chess.
